As the unification negotiations between People Power Party candidate Kim Moon-soo and independent candidate Han Duck-soo are at a standstill, a poll result released on the 9th indicates that if a public opinion survey unification is conducted according to the People Power Party's primary method, one candidate leads Kim significantly.

However, when considering the support base of the Democratic Party of Korea or progressive-minded voters, it showed that Kim leads over Han.

According to a poll conducted by Korea Gallup at the request of Seoul Economic Daily from the 6th to the 7th among 1,014 voters aged 18 and older nationwide, the suitability rating for the "conservative unified candidate" was 41% for Kim and 35% for Han. However, if the survey subjects are limited to the support base of People Power Party and undecided voters due to an "anti-backward choice clause," then Han's rating was 55%, about double that of Kim's 27%.

The People Power Party reflected opinion polls and party member votes at 50% each during the 2nd and 3rd primary processes and applied an anti-backward choice clause that excluded the support base of the Democratic Party and progressive-minded voters in the opinion polls.

In a poll conducted by Research and Research at the request of SBS from the 5th to the 6th among 1,003 men and women aged 18 and older nationwide, the suitability rating for the conservative unified candidate was 26% for Kim and 27% for Han, which was within the margin of error. However, when limited to the support base of the People Power Party, it was 34% for Kim and 54% for Han, and among conservatives, it showed a difference of more than 20 percentage points with 31% for Kim and 47% for Han outside the margin of error.

The results of a poll conducted by Dong-A Ilbo at the request of Research and Research from the 4th to the 5th among 1,013 voters aged 18 and older also showed that when asked "Which candidate do you think is more suitable (as a unified candidate)?" Kim had 25.9%, while Han had 27.6%. However, in a suitability survey for the unified candidate targeted only at the support base of the People Power Party and centrists, Han had 46% while Kim had 25.8%, revealing a gap of over 20 percentage points.

Each survey was conducted through telephone interviews. For details, refer to the website of the Central Election Survey Deliberation Commission.
