Embrain, Case Study Research, Korea Research, and Korea Research Institute announced the results of a nationwide poll conducted from the 5th to the 7th with 1,000 men and women aged 18 and older.
Following the candidate, independent Han Duck-soo received 23%, and People Power Party candidate Kim Moon-soo received 12%. The suitability gap between the candidates being discussed for unification and Kim was outside the margin of error.
49% of respondents said that unification between Kim and Han is necessary, while 35% said it is not. Among People Power Party supporters, 92% expressed the opinion that unification of the two candidates is necessary, while 61% of Democratic Party of Korea supporters disagreed.
58% of respondents believe that Han's candidacy, as the acting prime minister under the Yoon Suk-yeol administration, is undesirable, while 36% think it is desirable. Among progressive and centrist supporters, 84% and 66% respectively believe that his candidacy is undesirable. In contrast, 62% of conservative supporters found it desirable.
The NBS survey was conducted through telephone interviews using mobile phone virtual numbers (100%), with a margin of error of ±3.1 percentage points at a 95% confidence level. The response rate was 22.1%. For more details, refer to the website of the Central Election Polling Review Committee.
