People Power Party presidential candidate Kim Moon-soo noted on the 7th that the Democratic Party of Korea unilaterally processed amendments to the Criminal Procedure Act, saying, "Since they have already crossed the line, why not enact a 'presidential acquittal law' to express unconditional loyalty to Lee Jae-myung?"
Spokesperson Jo Yong-sool of Kim Moon-soo's victory camp issued a statement on the same day, saying, "As the likelihood of Lee Jae-myung's conviction under the Public Official Election Act becomes greater, the Democratic Party processed the 'law to suspend trials if elected president' independently today." On the same day, the Democratic Party independently processed an amendment to the Criminal Procedure Act that would suspend trials if one becomes president in the National Assembly's subcommittee on legislation and judiciary.
Spokesperson Jo continued, "The Democratic Party, which seeks to dominate over the separation of powers, and Lee Jae-myung, who condones this, will surely be judged by the people for undermining constitutional order," adding, "Kim Moon-soo believes in the justice of history."
