Park, a Democratic Party of Korea member of the National Assembly's Judiciary Committee, noted during a meeting of the Central Election Campaign Committee’s overall headquarters held at the party’s office in Yeouido on the morning of the same day that "Chief Justice Cho Hee-dae is essentially the planner and executor of a hasty political interference and election manipulation as well as targeted trials."

Park said, "This is an unconstitutional and illegal act that violates various principles and laws of our Constitution" and added that "the Supreme Court’s hurried ruling on the 1st can also be interpreted as an intention to deprive the presidential candidate Lee Jae-myung of his eligibility to conduct an election without a (Democratic Party of Korea) candidate."

Democratic Party of Korea member Jeong Cheong-rae, chair of the Legislative and Judiciary Committee, also wrote on Facebook that, "If the Supreme Court ultimately orchestrates a judicial coup and causes a judicial revolt, I will seek the impeachment of all judges involved in the judicial revolt, including the Chief Justice, as a decision for the nation."

Jeong stated, "Chief Justice Cho Hee-dae should not challenge the voting rights guaranteed by the Constitution," and added, "We will implement all means available to the National Assembly, including hearings, impeachment, and special investigations, to thwart any unconstitutional treasonous acts aimed at eliminating candidate number one."
