People Power Party Chairman Yoon Hee-sook said on the 6th that regarding presidential candidate Kim Moon-soo, "If you have no intention of unifying, step down and make way for others."
Yoon wrote on Facebook that day, "There is no need for changing politics other than Lee Jae-myung."
Previously, candidate Kim protested that the party leadership was effectively excluding him and not acknowledging him as the official presidential candidate. A major party official publicly mentioned the possibility of Kim's resignation amid unification discussions with independent candidate Han Duck-soo, which was effectively the first time for Yoon to do so.
Yoon stated, "It doesn't matter if it's Kim Moon-soo or Han Duck-soo," and added, "As everyone has been talking about, we need to quickly select and prepare the candidate with at least a 1% higher chance of winning to compete in a close battle." He went on to say, "Time is of the essence. The People Power Party should immediately initiate the unification process without hesitation," and emphasized that if they genuinely want to fight against criminals and their followers for the country and the people, there's no reason for any candidate to refrain from participating.
He also added, "If the stage for unification is set and candidate Kim Moon-soo does not participate, it would mean he has deceived party members with lies to pass the primary and should rightly be replaced."
