Kim Moon-soo, the People Power Party's presidential candidate, on the 4th commented on the Democratic Party of Korea's move to impeach Chief Justice Jo Hee-da, saying, "It is worse than Hitler and Kim Jong-un," and added, "I will definitely take action against this."

After finishing a visit to the National Cemetery in Dongjak District, Seoul, Kim responded to a question about the impeachment warning against Chief Justice Jo, stating, "Why are you trying to drag our great nation down to a level worse than the countries of Hitler, Kim Jong-un, Stalin, and Xi Jinping?"

He emphasized, "Which country in the world has completely seized the parliament like this, continuously obstructing the president, conducting impeachment 31 times, and even targeting the chief justice for impeachment? South Korea is not such an easy country."

Earlier the day before, the Democratic Party of Korea's first-term lawmakers' group, known as "Deo-min-cho," stated, "The unreasonable procedures and biased judgments of the Supreme Court led by Chief Justice Jo are in direct conflict with the legal sentiments and common sense of the people," and announced they would begin the impeachment process against Chief Justice Jo.

This is in response to the Supreme Court's decision to overturn the case against Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party of Korea's presidential candidate, for alleged violations of the Public Official Election Act. The Democratic Party planned to discuss the impeachment of Chief Justice Jo during an emergency general assembly that afternoon.

Kim also reacted to Lee Jae-myung's evaluation that he is going "completely against the restoration of constitutional order," saying, "I have made efforts to live a life that is right and to understand what the Constitution is and what the right path is," and called it sheer hypocrisy and embarrassment.

Meanwhile, Kim began his official schedule as the party's presidential candidate with a visit to the National Cemetery that day. In the guestbook, he wrote, "I will develop South Korea to be even greater."

On that day, accompanying Kim to the National Cemetery were Kwon Young-se, the newly appointed emergency committee chair, Kweon Seong-dong, the floor leader appointed as the campaign chair, Hwang Woo-yeo, the chairman of the election management committee, as well as lawmakers Na Kyung-won, Ahn Cheol-soo, and former lawmaker Yang Hyang-ja. Former chair Han Dong-hoon did not participate. It is reported that Han's side stated there was no prior discussion with Kim or the party leadership regarding his appointment as campaign chair.

After the visit to the National Cemetery, Kim will discuss campaign strategies at the party's election strategy committee. In the afternoon, he plans to visit the Hansen village in Pocheon, Gyeonggi Province, and the Uijeongbu Market to meet with residents and merchants.
