Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party of Korea presidential candidate, visited Chungbuk Danyang and Jecheon on 4th and said, "Even now, remnants of the insurrection remain, protecting insurrection forces, and even claiming to take responsibility for this country again." This is interpreted as targeting Han Duck-soo, who recently declared his candidacy as an independent presidential aspirant.

On the afternoon of the same day, the candidate conducted an "ear-to-ear listening tour" at Gu-gyeong Market in Danyang County and at Uirimji in Jecheon. The listening tour was conducted to meet and communicate with residents and small business owners in the regions of Gyeongbuk Yeongju, Yecheon, Gangwon Yeongwol, and Chungbuk Danyang and Jecheon.

During this event, the candidate mainly emphasized the recovery of democracy, mentioning the 12·3 state of emergency.

He said, "The president is neither a ruler of the country nor a dominate. If the agents work faithfully for the people and the nation, it will be a much better country," adding, "What saved this country are the seemingly powerless common people like us."

The candidate visited Danyang Gu-gyeong Market, purchased market goods, and had direct communication with merchants. He appealed for support in this presidential election while visiting a garlic bread shop run by young people and waving to supporters from a platform in front of the store.

Considering recent security situations, the candidate did not shake hands with adults but was seen shaking hands or taking photos with children and the elderly.

Furthermore, at around 5 p.m. on the same day at Uirimji in Jecheon, remarks seemingly targeting Han Duck-soo emerged. The candidate urged supporters to vote to create "a hopeful world" in this presidential election.

The candidate stated, "Even though insurrection forces claim they will take responsibility for this country again, I am confident they will fail," adding, "Now, we must move toward a true republic where the people are the real masters."

Previously, the candidate made remarks aimed at another candidate during a listening tour in Samcheok, Gangwon Province, the day before. He said at the time, "The current top challenge facing the Republic of Korea is to hold accountable those who destroy the constitution and restore constitutional order, and it feels a bit disappointing as if we are going completely in the opposite direction."
