Former Minister of Employment and Labor Kim Moon-soo was elected as the People Power Party candidate for the 21st presidential election on the 3rd.

The People Power Party announced on that day at a convention held at KINTEX in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, that "we will nominate former Minister Kim Moon-soo as the party's presidential candidate."

As a result of combining 'party member votes' and 'general public opinion surveys' equally at 50% each, the final vote shares were 56.53% for Kim Moon-soo and 43.47% for Han Dong-hoon.

Candidate Kim received 61.25% (246,519 votes) from party member votes, significantly outpacing candidate Han, who received 38.75% (155,961 votes), and also led Han in public opinion polls with 51.81% to Han's 48.19%.

Hwang Woo-yeo, the chair of the People Power Party's election commission, said, "I hereby declare that candidate Kim Moon-soo, who recorded the highest number of votes as the candidate for the 21st presidential election of the People Power Party, has been elected."

In his acceptance speech that day, Kim said, "Thank you for electing me, Kim Moon-soo, as the People Power Party's presidential candidate," adding, "I feel a great weight on my shoulders. Even if I fall apart, I will definitely achieve victory."

He continued, "In order to prevent the Democratic Party and Lee Jae-myung's forces from coming to power, I will build a strong coalition with any forces necessary," and added, "I will proceed in a way that both the public and our party members can accept."
