Kim Moon-soo, the People Power Party presidential candidate, appointed former leader Han Dong-hoon, lawmakers Ahn Cheol-soo, Na Kyung-won, former lawmaker Yang Hyang-ja, floor leader Kweon Seong-dong, election management committee chair Hwang Woo-yeo, and National Assembly Vice Speaker Joo Ho-young as co-chairpersons of the party's election strategy committee on the 3rd. Emergency response committee chair Kwon Young-se was appointed as the permanent co-chairperson.
The Kim campaign noted through a press release that "Candidate Kim will announce appointments to the election committee after consultations with the People Power Party's emergency response committee." Candidate Kim, who has been granted 'priority in party affairs,' which gives him all authority over party matters, initiated the election committee's appointments about four hours after being elected as the presidential candidate.
Earlier, after being elected as the presidential candidate, Kim stated at a press conference, "I intend to invite all those who competed. How can we unify and properly lead the country without bringing in these individuals? We will conduct the election with those who competed," while hinting at a 'melting pot election committee.'
Meanwhile, Han also stated in a concession speech immediately after the announcement of the second primary results, "I ask that Candidate Kim Moon-soo prevent South Korea from becoming a dangerous country," and noted, "I will support you from behind."
Meanwhile, Jang Dong-hyuk, who served as the head of the 'Victory Camp' for the candidate, was appointed as the secretary-general of the election committee, and Kim Jae-won, who was the head of media and public relations for the camp, was appointed as the candidate's secretary.
