People Power Party Chairman Kwon Young-se said on the 2nd regarding former Prime Minister Han Duck-soo's declaration to run for president, "The will is very strong, and I found the content to be acceptable."
Chairman Kwon met with reporters at the National Assembly that day and noted about a planned meeting with former Prime Minister Han, "There are no specific plans yet," while saying this.
The Democratic Party of Korea called former Prime Minister Han's candidacy "a scheme to shake up the presidential race." Chairman Kwon responded, "Those people call everything a scheme, so I don't care much about it."
He further stated, "Saying that the Supreme Court ruling regarding candidate Lee Jae-myung is also a scheme and conspiracy is not a responsible attitude for a massive opposition party with over 170 seats." He also referred to the Democratic Party's motion to impeach former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Choi Sang-mok and the motion to impeach Prosecutor General Shim Woo-jung as "a National Assembly coup attempting to overthrow the government beyond paralyzing it."
Chairman Kwon stated, "It seems that all of this is being done for the purpose of saving candidate Lee Jae-myung, and a party that sacrifices the country for one person is not a properly constitutional party," urging, "Stop it immediately, even now."
