Kweon Seong-dong, the floor leader of the People Power Party, said on the 2nd, “We will create a framework and strategy to work together with the candidates who were eliminated in this primary process and the anti-establishment forces outside.”
On the same day, Kweon noted in a meeting with reporters at the National Assembly, “In the end, the moderate conservatives need to unite.”
He commented on the specifics of the 'big tent' concept, saying, “That’s an issue after our party's candidate is decided,” and added, “For now, there are no plans to meet with the participants.” He also said regarding meeting with Han Duck-soo, the former Prime Minister who declared his candidacy for the presidential election that “there are no special plans yet.”
Kweon said regarding future presidential election trends, “We will lower our previously arrogant or unilateral stance and strive to understand and uphold the will of the people, effectively persuading and communicating our thoughts to the public.” He added, “We will honestly acknowledge our mistakes and widely promote our successes so that the public can trust, follow, and join our party.”
