Acting President Han Duck-soo, who is also the Prime Minister, instructed on the 1st, "In the process of responding to the new international order, approach calmly and seriously under the principle that 'there is no compromise in national security.'"
Acting Prime Minister Han chaired the Security Council of Ministers at the Government Seoul Building, urging that "the domestic and international security situation surrounding our country is very severe."
Acting Prime Minister Han said, "North Korea officially acknowledged the dispatch of Russian troops for the first time, accelerating its close relationship with Russia," adding, "They are upgrading weapons systems aimed at us and plotting new forms of provocation."
He noted, "Our government, corporations, and citizens are continuously exposed to the threat of cyber attacks," and urged, "Please maintain thorough preparedness and ensure that there is no gap in protecting the lives and property of our citizens against new threats."
He emphasized, "The morale of the military is a key factor that determines the outcome of the war." Acting Prime Minister Han requested efforts to improve the treatment and boost the morale of service members, stating, "Such efforts will be essential for our safety and victory in the event of a possible emergency."
He also remarked, "Many citizens are concerned about the impact of the tensions in the international community triggered by the second-term policies of the Trump administration on our security."
He added, "Strong security is the foundation of the country and a pillar that supports our economy," and urged that "the diplomatic and security departments unite with a sense of ownership and responsibility, thinking only of the nation and the people."
