According to the national benchmark survey (NBS) conducted by Embrain, KStat Research, Korea Research, and Hankook Research targeting 1,000 men and women aged 18 and older from the 28th to the 30th of last month, the response indicating that this candidate is suitable was up by 1 percentage point compared to the previous week.
Han Duck-soo, the acting prime minister of the president, who is expected to resign on the afternoon of this day and declare his candidacy on the 2nd, recorded 13% suitability for the next president. Han Dong-hoon, The People Power Party primary candidate, had a suitability rating of 9%, and Kim Moon-soo's suitability was 6%. Lee Jun-seok, the candidate from the Reform Party, had a suitability rating of 2%. 18% were undecided or did not respond.
Among the supporters of the People Power Party, the response that Han Duck-soo is suitable as the next president was the highest at 32%, followed by Han Dong-hoon at 21% and Kim Moon-soo at 15%.
In a hypothetical 'three-way contest' assuming that Lee Jae-myung, Han Duck-soo, and Lee Jun-seok would compete in the presidential election, Lee Jae-myung's support rate was 46%, Han Duck-soo's was 31%, and Lee Jun-seok's was 6%.
When assuming a three-way contest among Lee Jae-myung, Han Dong-hoon, and Lee Jun-seok, the results were 45% for Lee Jae-myung, 24% for Han Dong-hoon, and 6% for Lee Jun-seok.
In the case of a three-way contest among Lee Jae-myung, Kim Moon-soo, and Lee Jun-seok, Lee Jae-myung received 46%, Kim Moon-soo received 25%, and Lee Jun-seok received 8%.
When asked about the favorability towards the individuals mentioned as presidential candidates, 46% of respondents expressed favorable views toward Lee Jae-myung, the highest rate. Following him were Han Duck-soo at 31%, Han Dong-hoon at 26%, Kim Moon-soo at 25%, and Lee Jun-seok at 16%.
Party support ratings were 39% for the Democratic Party of Korea and 34% for the People Power Party, falling within the margin of error. The support for the Democratic Party increased by 1 percentage point compared to the previous week, while the support for the People Power Party decreased by 1 percentage point.
The NBS survey was conducted through telephone interviews using mobile virtual numbers (100%), and the margin of error is ±3.1 percentage points at a 95% confidence level.
