The Supreme Court decided on the 1st to overturn the conviction of Democratic Party of Korea presidential candidate Lee Jae-myung on charges of violating the Public Official Election Act, and People Power Party candidates Kim Moon-soo and Han Dong-hoon welcomed the decision, calling for Lee to resign.

Candidate Kim issued a statement that day, stating, "The Supreme Court has confirmed that South Korea's judicial justice is still alive with its ruling." He went on to say, "If Lee has any conscience, he should resign from his candidacy immediately. That is the least duty toward the people," adding, "If he continues to deceive the public with thin lies, the people will judge candidate Lee Jae-myung directly."

Candidate Han stated through social media (SNS), "The Supreme Court has corrected the ruling of the appeals court that had given this candidate a 'license to lie' today through a full court decision," asserting, "Thus, this candidate's 'license to lie' has been revoked, and it is effectively a deprivation of his political qualification. He must resign immediately." He added, "Claiming he will continue to run for president merely because there is still a remand procedure in the high court is nothing short of a law evader's mindset."

He also remarked, "Of course, the dangerous individual known as Lee Jae-myung will not easily withdraw," stating, "We must win not only through the court's ruling but also through the people's election." He then asserted, "I will stand at the forefront of the path to victory."
