After finishing a meeting in Jongno-gu, Seoul, on the afternoon of the 1st, the candidate met with reporters and said, "It's in a completely different direction than I had thought," and emphasized that "the important thing is that the law is also the consensus of the people, and the will of the people is the most important."

In response to a question about remarks from the People Power Party regarding candidate withdrawal and replacement, the candidate said, "Political rivals may have all kinds of imaginations and expectations, but ultimately, politics is done by the people," reiterating the need to follow the will of the people.

The candidate also stated on Facebook that "decisions affecting the lives of the people are not made by politics or the judiciary. Ultimately, it is the people who decide," adding, "I will only trust the people and move forward confidently."

On the same day, the Supreme Court remanded the case of the candidate's violation of the Public Official Election Act with a guilty intent. In this case, the candidate had previously received a guilty verdict in the first trial and a not guilty verdict in the second trial, but with the Supreme Court's remand, the candidate will face retrial at the Seoul High Court.
