Han Dong-hoon of the People Power Party's presidential primary campaign apologized regarding the 'blank appointment letter' controversy.
Han's campaign stated on the 30th through a media notice, “Hong Seong-kyu, the spokesperson for The Progressive Party, was appointed as an organizational advisor from the People First Campaign and demanded an official explanation and apology,” adding, “After confirming the facts, it was revealed that there was a lack of consent in the process of gathering the list of organizational advisors.”
He continued, “We explained the circumstances regarding the issuance to spokesperson Hong,” noting, “We express our regret that this incident occurred and will work to prevent its recurrence.”
Previously, spokesperson Hong stated during a press conference on the 30th, “I was appointed as an organizational advisor of the People Power Party's Han Dong-hoon and the People First Campaign through a text message on the 29th,” and urged, “I demand an official explanation and apology regarding how my name was included.”
The 'blank appointment letter' controversy has also been criticized by Kim Moon-soo's People Power Party presidential primary campaign. Kim's campaign recently sent an appointment letter to Chung Jun-ho, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea (Gwangju Buk-gu Gap), for the campaign's election strategy committee as an organizational advisor, and Representative Chung criticized, “Manage your organization properly from the start.”
