The People Power Party will select two final candidates to advance to the third round of the presidential primary on the 29th.

The People Power Party presidential candidate selection committee stated that it will announce the two candidates advancing to the third round around 2 p.m. today.

If a candidate receives a majority of votes among Kim Moon-soo, Ahn Cheol-soo, Han Dong-hoon, and Hong Joon-pyo, who passed the second round in alphabetical order, they will be confirmed as the party's presidential candidate.

If this is not the case, a final competition will take place between the first and second place candidates. The political community believes that instead of deciding on the presidential candidate today, it is more likely that the process will go to the final round.

The second round applied a rule of 50% party member votes and 50% public opinion polls.

The two final candidates advancing to the third round will hold a debate on the 30th. Following a voting process by the electoral group (50%) and public opinion polls (50%) on the 1st and 2nd of next month, one candidate will be elected at the party convention on the 3rd.

However, even if the People Power Party's final candidate is elected, there are forecasts that if Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, who is currently serving as acting president, runs for the presidential election, there will be a process for unification.
