On the 27th, the People Power Party criticized the Democratic Party of Korea after former leader Lee Jae-myung was finally selected as the presidential candidate, saying, "The Democratic Party is still under the one-man system of Lee Jae-myung."
It also pointed out that, mentioning the candidate's overwhelming approval ratings, the contest on that day was like an "inauguration ceremony for Lee Jae-myung."
On that day, the candidate was confirmed as the presidential nominee after recording a cumulative approval rating of 89.77% at the Democratic Party of Korea's final candidate selection event.
Shin Dong-uk, the chief spokesperson, noted in a commentary that "Currently, there is no courage or system to halt the factionalized 'Lee Jae-myung Party' within the Democratic Party," and added, "All that remains are various risks."
The chief spokesperson pointed out, "The Democratic Party, seemingly having seized power, displays arrogance with statements like 'a Democratic Party government in 40 days' and is celebrating before facing the judgment of the people," and questioned, "How will the image of the Democratic Party floating in the air with power it was not granted by the people be perceived by the citizens?"
He urged that the people have the right to know the truth and make choices, calling for a ruling on Lee Jae-myung's election law violation case to be delivered before the presidential election.
