The Government Employees Ethics Committee disclosed the assets of 38 high-ranking officials whose statuses changed between January 2 and February 1 of this year through the official gazette on the 25th.
The current high-ranking official with the most reported assets during this period is Dong-Woon Lee, Administrator of the Busan Regional Tax Office, with assets registered in the name of himself and his family amounting to 11.997 billion won.
Lee reported various assets including an apartment in Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam-gu co-owned with his spouse, an apartment in Gaepo-dong, Gangnam-gu registered under his spouse’s name, and a building in Seocho-dong, Seocho-gu, totaling 10.496 billion won.
Additionally, Kim Sun-Jo, Deputy Minister for Planning and Coordination of the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission (at the time of asset registration, in a non-position state in Daegu), and Bae Young-Kwon, Vice President of Daegu University of Education, were reported to possess 6.62004 billion won and 3.19127 billion won in assets, respectively.
Kim reported assets totaling 3.24301 billion won in land registered under the names of his spouse, mother, and eldest daughter, as well as 1.52332 billion won in buildings, 1.20132 billion won in deposits, and 607.89 million won in stocks.
Bae reported 2.41472 billion won in deposits and 683.30 million won in buildings registered under his and his family's names.
Among retirees, Oh Eun-Seok, former auditor of the Board of Audit and Inspection, reported assets totaling 6.62446 billion won.
Jeong Jae-Ho, former Ambassador to China at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Park Jong-Joon, former head of the presidential security service, reported assets amounting to 5.22486 billion won and 3.97995 billion won, respectively.
