Her Eun-a, the former leader who left the Reform Party, declared her candidacy for the presidential election on the 24th, saying, “I will escape from Lee Jun-seok’s party and align my gaze directly with the people to design the future of South Korea.”
At a press conference in front of the National Assembly’s main gate that day, the former leader stated, “I aimed to create a president within a party that shouted for change and reform. However, the reality of the Reform Party, which has turned into Lee Jun-seok’s party, has been a repetition of power struggles and outdated politics without vision.”
She said, “I will create a South Korea with a prosperous and stable future,” adding, “I will prioritize overcoming the population crisis as the number one task of the government.” She continued, “As a mother of one child and a working woman, I am more eager than anyone for the future of this country,” and added, “I will review all policies and systems based on the criterion of ‘sustainable recovery.’”
The former leader further noted, “There should be no politics that pass on debt to future generations. All structural reforms, including pension reform, must consider the survival of future generations,” and stated, “I will pour all my experience and passion into protecting the future of South Korea and the lives of its people.”
