The South Korea-U.S. 2+2 trade consultation ended around 9:20 a.m. local time on the 24th.
On our side, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Choi Sang-mok and Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Ahn Duk-geun attended the 2+2 trade consultation, which was held around 8:10 a.m. on the same day and lasted approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes, with U.S. participants including Secretary of the Treasury Scott Vessen and U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer.
It was reported that the two sides discussed the itemized tariffs recently imposed by U.S. President Donald Trump and mutual tariffs during the consultation on that day.
Participants on our side included Deputy Prime Minister Choi Sang-mok, Deputy Minister for International Affairs Choi Ji-young, Spokesperson Kang Young-kyu, and Director of the Bureau of External Economic Affairs Min Kyung-sul (all from the Ministry of Economy and Finance), as well as Minister Ahn Duk-geun and Vice Minister Park Sung-taek, and Director of Trade Policy Jang Seong-gil (all from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy).
