Acting President Han Duck-soo, who is also the Prime Minister, said on the 23rd during a discussion about tariffs between South Korea and the United States, 'please support us in finding mutually beneficial solutions.'

On that day, Han met with Kurt Campbell, Chairman of the Asia Group, Paul Wolfowitz, Senior Research Fellow at the Hoover Institution, Kan House, Senior Research Fellow at the Belfer Center, John Hamre, President of the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), and Randall Schriver, Chairman of the Project 2040 Institute, at the Seoul Government Complex in Jongno-gu, Seoul.

Kurt Campbell served as the Deputy Secretary of State, Paul Wolfowitz was the Deputy Secretary of Defense, and Randall Schriver held the position of Assistant Secretary of Defense for Indo-Pacific Security Affairs. They visited South Korea to attend 'Asan Plenary 2025,' hosted by the Asan Institute for Policy Studies.

At this meeting, Han noted, 'Participants have made significant contributions to the development of the South Korea-U.S. alliance from their respective positions,' and added, 'Please continue to play a role in the ongoing strengthening of the alliance, centered around active think tanks.'

The delegation responded, 'The South Korea-U.S. alliance has greatly helped the development of both countries,' and stated, 'We will generously support the deepening of the alliance in a direction that brings reciprocal prosperity.'

They added, 'The alliance is poised for a new leap forward through cooperation in key areas such as joint efforts, energy, and advanced technology,' and expressed hope that 'the South Korea-U.S. alliance will contribute even more significantly to peace and development in the region.'
