Kweon Seong-dong, the floor leader of the People Power Party, noted, "The impeachment of former President Yoon Suk-yeol has already become a past issue," adding that "whether one was for or against the impeachment, it has become a matter of the past, so there is no need to cling to that issue."

After announcing the party's childbirth and childcare commitments at the National Assembly on the morning of the same day, Kweon Seong-dong responded to questions from reporters regarding the fact that two of the four candidates selected in the first cut-off of the party's presidential primary the day before were from the pro-impeachment faction.

The day before, among the eight candidates from the People Power Party, Kim Moon-soo, Ahn Cheol-soo, Han Dong-hoon, and Hong Joon-pyo advanced past the first cut-off. Of these, Ahn and Han are classified as pro-impeachment, while Kim and Hong are labeled as anti-impeachment. There were predictions that Ahn, considered outside the so-called three-power core, would find it difficult to pass the first cut-off since the party's mainstream is anti-impeachment; however, Ahn surpassed Na Kyung-won, who is seen as an anti-impeachment candidate.

Kweon Seong-dong stated, "Former President Yoon has already stepped down, and this has become a historical fact," and added that "because of past issues, our party's candidates should focus on how to robustly protect the future of South Korea and the lives of its people while cultivating economic growth."
