A bill to amend the martial law, prohibiting access to the National Assembly by the military and police, passed through the National Assembly's subcommittee on the 23rd.

The National Assembly's defense committee's bill examination subcommittee approved the martial law amendment with this content on that day.

According to the amendment, ▲Military personnel ▲Police ▲Employees of intelligence and security agencies under the command and supervision of the martial law commander will not be allowed to enter the National Assembly premises. However, entry may be allowed exceptionably if deemed necessary to guarantee the exercise of National Assembly authority or if requested or permitted by the speaker of the National Assembly. Those in the military or police who violate this will face imprisonment for up to three years or fines of up to 10 million won.

The amendment also includes a provision stating that 'no one shall obstruct a member of the National Assembly's access to or meetings in the National Assembly after the declaration of martial law.' Those who obstruct a member's access to the National Assembly will face imprisonment for up to five years.

For the amendment to be finally passed in the National Assembly, it must go through the defense committee's plenary meeting, the legal and judicial committee's system and wording review, and the plenary session in order.
