The National Election Commission noted on the 23rd that a cyber attack on the election statistics system on its website occurred for about three hours starting at 2:40 p.m. on the 22nd.
The National Election Commission explained, "At this point, about 40 days before the 21st presidential election, we are taking the cyber attack on the election system very seriously," adding, "We have requested an investigation from the police regarding this matter."
The National Election Commission stated that during the integrated control and information security system monitoring process, it independently detected a cyber attack on the election statistics system and took swift action, such as blocking the relevant IP, resulting in no damage. It also mentioned that it is currently strengthening integrated security monitoring and there are no additional unusual signs.
