Han Dong-hoon, a candidate for the People Power Party's presidential primary, said after passing the first cut-off on the 22nd, "I will definitely defeat the Democratic Party and Lee Jae-myung with you all."
On the same day, after the announcement of the cut-off results by the party's election management committee in the afternoon, Han said in a statement, "From April 29, let our party unite immediately to confront Lee Jae-myung's Democratic Party, and I ask you to choose me, Han Dong-hoon, even more overwhelmingly."
He appealed, "I am the only choice to win, as a person who is free from any martial law attack of the Democratic Party's Lee Jae-myung, who can boldly speak of 'changing the era' in the face of the 'exchange of martial law and impeachment,' and who can present the vision of a 'real economy' that opens the era of a growing middle class against the 'fake economy' of borrowing money and distributing it."
He also offered comfort to lawmakers Na Kyung-won, Yang Hyang-ja, Incheon Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok, and Gyeongsangbuk-do Governor Lee Cheol-woo, who did not pass the first primary threshold, saying, "Please do your best and unite your efforts to protect the present and future of South Korea."
