Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, who is acting president, said on the 19th, "The most important key to overcoming the crisis is to unite the strength of the people as one."

Acting Prime Minister Han attended the 65th anniversary ceremony of the April 19 Revolution held at the National April 19th Memorial Cemetery in Gangbuk District, Seoul, and made this statement.

Acting Prime Minister Han noted, "Externally, the geopolitical risks around the world are expanding, and the global economic order is also being reorganized," adding, "Domestically, social conflicts and division of public opinion are deepening."

He further emphasized, "If our people become united, we can overcome all these difficulties," stating, "Unity is coexistence. I will do my utmost to transform the strength of the people into energy for national development by resolving social conflicts through dialogue and cooperation."

He also evaluated, "The April 19 Revolution is a brilliant achievement in the history of democracy in the Republic of Korea that everyone should remember," emphasizing, "The spirit of that day, which symbolizes freedom, democracy, and justice, has become the foundation of the Constitution of the Republic of Korea. I believe it has been a driving force in establishing our democracy and creating a proud nation."

Additionally, he stated, "In 2023, 1,019 records of the April 19 Revolution were registered as UNESCO World Documentary Heritage. We must cherish and uphold the spirit while remembering the sacrifices and contributions of the democratic spirits," and added, "The government will do its best to honor the democratic patriots and support the bereaved families."
