On the 19th, the first debate of the People Power Party's presidential primary was held, where the candidates revealed their Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) types. All four candidates participating in today's debate—Kim Moon-soo, Ahn Cheol-soo, Yoo Jeong-bok, and Yang Hyang-ja—were found to have strong extroverted (E) and intuitive (N) tendencies, drawing attention.
In the People Power Party’s first primary debate, the four candidates assigned to Group A faced off in a leading debate held that afternoon at the ASSA Art Hall in Gangseo-gu, Seoul.
In the MBTI introduction segment, candidates Kim, Ahn, and Yoo stated they were "ENTJ." Kim said, "I always like people, act together among people, trust people, and go along until the end," while Ahn noted, "I identify problems in complex situations and seek solutions to resolve them," and Yoo described himself as "a leader who has served as governor, district chief, mayor, and Minister."
In contrast, Yang, the only one with a different type, identified as "ENFJ," stating, "I'm a model of warm leadership like Barack Obama, Nelson Mandela, and Oprah Winfrey."
The candidates also played a "balance game" choosing between the books "The Destiny of Moon Jae-in" by former President Moon Jae-in and "The Time of Cho Kuk" by former Rebuilding Korea Party leader Cho Kuk.
Candidate Kim chose the book by former President Moon. He remarked, "After reading the book, I realized how much this person cares for and misses North Korea, and I felt he was a treasonous president." Ahn, who selected Cho’s book, said, "There are no excuses, yet he wrote a book of excuses; I can't imagine how he will justify it, so I want to know his secret."
In the game selecting either basic income or local currency as a "policy that depletes the nation's treasury," all four candidates chose basic income.
During the debate, Yang criticized the candidate's artificial intelligence (AI) promise by pulling out a paper and calling it a "empty tin can," even tearing the paper. In response, Kim said, "The answer to lies is to tear them apart," and echoed in agreement.
