A survey result released on the 17th showed that two out of three citizens do not think it is desirable for Han Duck-soo, the acting president and prime minister, to run for president, amid discussions within the People Power Party.
Embrain, Case Study Research, Korea Research, and Korea Research announced the results of a nationwide indicator survey (NBS), conducted from the 14th to the 16th with 1,001 men and women aged 18 and older, on this day.
According to the survey results, 66% responded that Han Duck-soo's presidential run was 'undesirable,' significantly ahead of the 24% who thought it was 'desirable.' 10% were 'unsure or did not respond.'
By supporting party, 91% of supporters of the Democratic Party of Korea responded that it was 'undesirable,' while 4% said it was 'desirable.' Among supporters of the People Power Party, 55% responded that it was 'desirable,' while 38% found it 'undesirable.'
The NBS survey was conducted through telephone interviews using mobile virtual numbers (100%), with a sampling error of ±3.1 percentage points at a 95% confidence level.
