Kim Dong-yeon, the Governor of Gyeonggi Province, expressed his welcome to former Gyeongnam Governor Kim Kyung-soo, who officially announced his candidacy for the presidential election on the 13th, saying, "It is very meaningful to be able to be together as both a competitor and a partner."

On that afternoon, Governor Kim posted a message on his social media (SNS), welcoming "Candidate Kim Kyung-soo, who participated in the proud Democratic Party presidential primary," and stated, "Like the alliance of light, the visions and policies of each candidate will create a larger and stronger one team."

Both Governor Kim Dong-yeon and former Governor Kim Kyung-soo are considered prominent presidential candidates classified as non-Lee Jae-myung factions, challenging the 'one strong' system formed around Representative Lee Jae-myung.

Earlier, former Governor Kim held a press conference in the briefing room of Sejong City Hall on that morning and officially declared his candidacy for the presidential election. He expressed his aspirations by stating, "I will create 'a nation for me and us' through the alliance of light."
