Former President Yoon Suk-yeol, who is facing his first formal trial on charges of leading a rebellion on the 14th, requested the court to allow him to enter through the underground parking lot on the day of the trial.
The Seoul High Court, which manages the courthouse, stated on the 10th, "The security office requested access for former President Yoon to the underground parking lot," adding, "The court's security plan regarding this will be announced on the 11th."
The Criminal Division 25 of the Seoul Central District Court (Presiding Judge Ji Gwi-yeon) will conduct the first trial of former President Yoon, who has been charged with leading a rebellion, on the 14th of this month. Former President Yoon is required to attend all formal trials, which will be held once or twice a week in the future, in his capacity as a defendant.
Former President Yoon attended his first trial preparation hearing and the hearing for the cancellation of his detention on February 20, but did not attend the second trial preparation hearing. At the first trial preparation hearing, he was in detention and entered the courthouse directly in a Ministry of Justice transport vehicle.
Currently, former President Yoon was released on the 8th of last month, following the court's decision to cancel his detention. Unless there are exceptional measures from the court, he will enter the 4th-floor courtroom through entrance 5, like other defendants in non-detention status.
