A Democratic Party official noted, “I understand that former Prime Minister Kim is considering not participating in the Democratic Party's primary.” It is anticipated that Kim will clarify his position as early as this afternoon.

However, there are speculations that Kim will seek other forms of participation in the presidential race, including the 'fully open primary' proposed by the Justice Party.

Previously, former lawmaker Park Yong-jin and former South Jeolla Governor Kim Young-rok, who were considered candidates from the non-Lee Jae-myung faction, have declared their intention not to run. Among the non-Lee Jae-myung candidates, former lawmaker Kim Du-kwan and Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon have officially declared their candidacies.

Former South Gyeongsang Governor Kim Kyung-soo is expected to announce his candidacy soon.
