About 10 North Korean soldiers crossed the Military Demarcation Line (MDL) and then withdrew, the Joint Chiefs of Staff noted on the 8th.

According to the Joint Chiefs of Staff, about 10 North Korean soldiers crossed the MDL around 5 p.m. that day at the eastern front demilitarized zone (DMZ).

The South Korean military immediately conducted warning broadcasts and warning shots, and the North Korean troops retreated north of the MDL.

A Joint Chiefs of Staff official said, "The military is closely monitoring the movements of the North Korean troops and taking necessary measures based on operational procedures."

The circumstances surrounding the North Korean troops crossing the MDL are not known.

Currently, North Korea is continuing the disruption measures that have been underway since last year. They are deploying military forces to the border area to build anti-tank defense barriers or install barbed wire.

In this process, some North Korean troops working in the DMZ on the central front crossed south of the MDL in June of last year and retreated north after our warning broadcasts and warning shots.

North Korea has been continuing the same operations since March of this year.
