Kim Dong-yeon, governor of Gyeonggi Province, will announce his candidacy for the presidential election at Incheon International Airport on the 9th.

According to Gyeonggi Province on the 8th, Governor Kim is expected to report his departure to the United States and announce his candidacy for the presidential election at the K counter in the departure hall of Terminal 2 at Incheon Airport at 9 a.m. on the 9th.

The governor's visit to the United States was initiated to respond to tariffs imposed by U.S. President Donald Trump on auto parts.

After his announcement, the governor plans to stay for two nights and four days in Michigan, the home of the three major U.S. automakers: General Motors, Ford, and Stellantis, to engage in "tariff diplomacy."
