The Democratic Party of Korea criticized former President Yoon Suk-yeol, who has been expelled, for engaging in ‘government house’ politics and urged the People Power Party to 'expel former President Yoon' on the 6th.
Spokesperson Hwang Jeong-ah criticized during a written briefing on the same day, saying, 'Why is the expelled Yoon Suk-yeol still acting as if he owns the 'presidential office'? Is the People Power Party not afraid of the people?'
She also stated, 'Break away from the power of the far-right and right now, part ways with 'former king Yoon Suk-yeol.' Expel party member Yoon Suk-yeol and drive out all those who advocated for insurrection and incited violence.'
Earlier, former President Yoon met with the leadership of the People Power Party, including Chairman Kwon Young-se, at the presidential office in Hannam-dong on the 4th, the same day the Constitutional Court announced his impeachment. During this meeting, former President Yoon urged them, saying, 'Time is short, so I hope you prepare well for the presidential election centered around the party and achieve victory.' The next day, on the 5th, he called in lawmaker Na Kyung-won to the office and had a one-on-one meeting for about an hour. Former President Yoon reportedly expressed to Na, 'Thank you for playing a significant role during this difficult time. You have worked hard.'
The People Power Party is reportedly not currently reviewing the expulsion of former President Yoon.
