On that day, Secretary General Hwang noted on social media, 'Today is former Representative Cho Kuk's 60th birthday. He has turned 60. Looking back, I realize that I haven't properly congratulated him since 2019.'
He said, 'Since 2020, former Representative Cho has often felt burdened receiving congratulations due to the imprisonment of (former Representative Cho's wife) Professor Jeong Kyung-sim,' adding, 'If I had known this, I would have celebrated last year's birthday with more fanfare. I regret it a lot.'
Secretary General Hwang expressed, 'I wanted to celebrate with party members on significant occasions this year, such as the impeachment of Yoon Suk-yeol and the first anniversary of the founding of our party,' noting, 'I applied for a special meeting last week but did not receive approval.
