The controversy over Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, and the 'mobilization order for the Gaeddal' has caused a rift between the ruling and opposition parties.
The Democratic Party of Korea stated in a position paper released on the afternoon of the 8th, "The leader did not post any encouragement for participation in the protests for President Yoon's impeachment on the fan cafe," adding, "The post was made by the cafe staff, who posted a message that Representative Lee sent to local party members."
It followed with a request that the People Power Party immediately retract the comment and publicly apologize, and requested corrections from the media as well.
Earlier, a post encouraging participation in the impeachment protest against President Yoon was published in Representative Lee's fan cafe 'Jaemyeong's Village.' In the post, Representative Lee stated, "The insurrection incident has not yet ended" and added, "This Saturday, the march for the protection of democracy continues. Your step, your voice will become a great power to restore the Republic of Korea."
In response, Jeong Kwang-jae, Spokesperson for the People Power Party, referenced that Representative Lee had resigned from the fan cafe 'Fan Cafe Leader' and questioned, "What does it mean to issue a mobilization order for the Gaeddal after two months? Did you think that just because you said you would resign as the fan cafe leader, it meant you were actually resigning?"
He then remarked, "The recent drop in approval ratings must be making Representative Lee quite anxious."
