Uber Taxi announced today that it will launch a joint promotion between Korea and Japan emphasizing global business consolidation.
This promotion was designed to take advantage of the 'Global One App' feature that provides the same mobility experience and benefits in both countries through a single Uber app, offering tangible benefits amid the increasing tourism demand, especially during the summer vacation season.
Korean users who are using Uber Taxi for the first time can receive a discount benefit of up to 1,500 yen for two rides, totaling a 50% fare discount in Japan, and after completing two rides in Japan, they can receive an additional 75% discount on up to 10,000 won for two rides after returning to Korea. Existing users can also receive a 30% discount benefit for two rides, limited to 750 yen in Japan, and the same benefits will apply in Korea. Japanese users using Uber in Korea will also receive benefits of the same structure.
An Uber Taxi representative noted, "This promotion will be a special opportunity to connect Uber's strong global network with customer experience and, given that it is designed to ensure convenient mobility locally and to continue the convenience of Uber Taxi after returning home, we expect it will maximize global synergy and contribute to increased ride rates."
