LG Electronics announced on the 21st that it is conducting an air conditioner energy-saving campaign called the ‘ThinQ 26°C Challenge’ in collaboration with the Korea Energy Agency (KEA).
This challenge encourages customers to set their desired air conditioner temperature to 26°C, the appropriate cooling temperature for the summer, allowing them to easily and effectively practice energy savings in their daily lives.
The campaign, which started for the first time last year, had more than 50,000 participants and recorded an energy savings effect of about 1.05 million kilowatt-hours (KWh). This corresponds to the amount of electricity that approximately 3,400 households can use in a month, based on the average monthly electricity consumption of 307 kilowatt-hours for a four-person household in urban areas.
Customers who wish to participate can register their LG Whisen air conditioner on the LG ThinQ app, apply for the ‘ThinQ 26°C Challenge,’ and use the air conditioner at a desired temperature of 26°C or higher for at least 10 hours during the campaign period. The campaign runs from the 15th of this month to September 30.
LG Electronics and the Korea Energy Agency (KEA) will draw participants who complete the mission to offer various prizes, including LG Gram laptops, LG Puricare Hydro Tower, and LG Stanby Me products.
