On the 17th, Naver announced plans to expand its "immersive media platform," stating that it will sequentially unveil various video technologies and an XR content platform integrated with AI within this year.
Since launching "NAVER TV Cast" in 2012, Naver has continuously introduced video-centric services such as NOW and VLIVE, reliably providing high-quality live streaming services that emphasize real-time interaction based on its self-enhanced video technology.
In particular, Naver introduced the "Vision Tech Triangle" technology, which utilizes media AI, XR studios, and virtual streaming combined with AI, focusing on improving user experience and expanding immersive media experiences.
Last year, Naver developed a unique technology called "AIEncode," which introduced AI technology that reduces the bitrate burden by up to 30% while maintaining video quality. This technology is applied in video compression, image optimization, and real-time streaming optimization, supporting users in experiencing videos more quickly.
Additionally, through the MUAi platform, Naver deeply understands the context of videos and supports recommendation enhancement with features such as chapter segmentation and auto chapter technology. "AutoClipAi" is a technology that automatically converts text content into video, creating content optimized for short form, helping blog creators easily produce short forms.
"VisionStage" and "MotionStage" are professional studios for producing virtual reality content, utilized in various content creation such as commerce, short form, and drama. In particular, MotionStage offers the ability to produce 3D content in real time, providing an experience optimized for virtual streaming and live broadcasting. Through this, it collaborated with Chijijik to produce 3D content and Dolby Atmos-based music videos.
Prism Live Studio is an app that supports 3D avatar-based content creation, recording global downloads of 1 million and generating an average of 130,000 live broadcasts daily. By applying Adaptive Bitrate Publish (ABP) technology, it automatically adjusts video quality according to real-time network conditions, enabling high-quality broadcasts even in mobile environments.
Naver is preparing an Android-based XR content platform aimed at the XR content market and is developing related technologies as the popularization of virtual reality (VR) and mixed reality (MR) accelerates.
Kim Seong-ho, leader of the immersive media platform, noted, "As we enter the era of popularization of VR devices, we will focus on developing XR-related media technologies, leading to the activation of creativity in Naver's service areas while providing users with vivid media experiences."
