Samsung Electronics announced on the 17th that it will launch the 2025 model 'Bespoke AI Washing Machine' and 'Bespoke AI Dryer' on the 18th.
The new products include a washing machine with a capacity of up to 25 kg and a dryer with a capacity of 22 kg, which can be installed vertically, horizontally, or separately depending on the space, making them suitable for consumers who need to manage a large amount of laundry or require separated washing.
The new Bespoke AI Washing Machine and Dryer are equipped with a 7-inch 'AI Home' touchscreen that allows users to check and control washing and drying courses.
The artificial intelligence (AI) features have also been enhanced. It supports the AI voice assistant Bixby, allowing users to control it through voice commands.
The Bespoke AI Washing Machine supports the 'AI Custom Washing+' feature, which customizes washing according to the type and weight of the laundry and its level of soiling.
The types of fabrics that AI can recognize have expanded from the existing three types: general, delicate, and towel, to a total of five types, including denim and outdoor fabrics.
The Bespoke AI Dryer is equipped with the 'AI Custom Drying+' feature, which customizes drying using optimized algorithms based on the material and characteristics of the clothing.
It also incorporates 'Hybrid Heat Pump' technology to provide more efficient drying performance. It heats the heat exchanger quickly with a heater while maintaining the interior of the dryer drum below 60 degrees using low-temperature dehumidification technology.
The 2025 model Bespoke AI Washing Machine and Dryer have achieved a 1st-grade energy efficiency rating, allowing purchasers to benefit from the 'High Efficiency Home Appliance Rebate Program' implemented by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
In particular, the washing machine consumes 45% less electricity per kilogram of laundry compared to the minimum standard set for 1st-grade drum washing machines announced by the Korea Energy Agency.
By setting the 'AI Saving Mode' in the SmartThings app, users can reduce energy usage by up to 60% during washing and by up to 35% during drying.
After launching the all-in-one washer-dryer 'Bespoke AI Combo' and the vertically combined 'Bespoke AI One Body,' Samsung Electronics has completed its full lineup of laundry appliances with the introduction of separate washers and dryers.
Moon Jong-seung, vice president of Samsung Electronics' DA division, said, 'We will continue to strengthen our leadership in the washing and drying machine market based on advanced AI technology,' and noted, 'We will solidify the equation of “AI appliances = Samsung.”
