Samsung Electronics announced that it will develop 'Galaxy AI' into an intelligent AI that anticipates what users need and takes action on its own.

According to the industry on the 13th, Park Ji-sun, vice president of Samsung Electronics' MX Division Language AI team, spoke with reporters in Brooklyn, New York, where the 'Galaxy Unpacked 2025' event was held on the 9th (local time).

Vice President Park said, 'In the future, the way to communicate with AI will be to talk as casually as you do with friends, sharing the scene in front of you in real time without the need for users to type everything out.'

He further emphasized, 'AI with multimodal capabilities and the ability to understand user intent will become the new standard for user experience.' Multimodal AI refers to AI that integrates and recognizes various types of information such as text, images, voice, and video.

For example, if you show your wardrobe with your smartphone camera and say, 'Recommend an outfit suitable for today's weather,' the AI will analyze the weather information and clothing items together to respond. Currently, the 'Vision AI' of Galaxy AI provides similar functionality.

Samsung Electronics is developing a personalized AI that understands user intent and usage patterns to provide assistance proactively without user commands.

According to joint research released by Vice President Park and University College London, 45% of AI users already frequently use voice commands, and 60% responded that they wish 'smartphones would understand my habits and act on their own.'

Samsung Electronics aims for AI that naturally integrates into users' daily lives and functions proactively according to the situation, commonly referred to as 'Ambient Intelligence.'

Vice President Park explained, 'Not only smartphones but also watches, rings, appliances, and TVs will expand to provide personalized services that users cannot see but can receive naturally from the side.'
