Salesforce announced on the 11th that it successfully hosted the 'Industry Summit: MFG Day' at the PARADISE Hotel in Busan on the 10th, sharing strategies for work innovation based on agentic artificial intelligence (AI) and use cases within the manufacturing industry.

This summit marked Salesforce's first offline forum held for manufacturing customers based in the Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam regions, with over 100 business leaders and practitioners attending on site. On that day, Salesforce emphasized that AI agents, which autonomously make decisions and perform tasks beyond simple automation, will play a key role in enhancing productivity in domestic manufacturing and securing a competitive edge in the global market.

During the welcoming remarks, Kim Pyeong-ho, Deputy Minister for Industry Strategy at Salesforce, introduced the distinctions between existing AI technologies and agentic AI technologies, centered around Salesforce's industry-specific specialized AI customer relationship management (CRM) solutions, and stressed the business value that AI agents could generate in the manufacturing industry. In particular, he explained that AI agents could be used diversely in the manufacturing industry for tasks such as ▲ creating quotes ▲ analyzing sales status ▲ managing orders ▲ responding to partner inquiries, and thus they would significantly contribute to the sustainability and productivity enhancement of regional corporations where talent acquisition is challenging.

Salesforce also introduced practical success cases based on its key solutions like Agentforce, Slack, Tableau, and Field Service, presenting innovation implementation strategies and specific cases for manufacturing corporations based on AI technology. It highlighted the case of HD Hyundai Infracore's field service improvements in the heavy equipment manufacturing sector. HD Hyundai Infracore optimized the entire service process from customer inquiry receipt to on-site response and quality management through a combination of Field Service and Agentforce, resulting in simultaneous improvements in customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Salesforce also shared ways to strengthen data-driven management systems using Tableau. In particular, it introduced examples of how to build systems that support rapid and accurate decision-making by management through the quick analysis of real-time data from the manufacturing field, based on key features like Tableau Pulse and Tableau Agent.

Salesforce stated that, as a result of this summit, it will continue to strengthen its practical support capabilities needed for manufacturing corporations in the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam region to seek new growth engines based on AI and enhance their global competitiveness.

Son Boo-han, representative of Salesforce Korea, said, 'Salesforce has been supporting the entire journey from the introduction of solutions to internalization and dissemination within the organization, based on the know-how accumulated from over 150,000 corporations worldwide over the past 25 years,' and 'by alleviating constraints on human and material resources when introducing AI technology and driving actual business outcomes, we will continue to strengthen our capabilities as a reliable innovation partner in the journey of AI innovation for the domestic manufacturing industry.'
