Job Korea's game industry specialized job portal, Game Job, announced on the 9th that it has published the 'Game Job Employment Trend Report', analyzing key recruitment indicators over the past three years.
According to Game Job, the number of individual members increased by 25% from 2022 to 2024, while job postings views rose by 60% and application submissions increased by 58%. During this period, the cumulative number of members reached approximately 200,000, with job postings views totaling 14 million and application submissions amounting to 890,000.
By age group, job seekers in their 30s accounted for 54% of the total, reflecting a high demand for job changes due to the project-centric nature of the industry. The share of applicants for entry-level positions also reached 42%, indicating a continuous inflow of 'mid-career newcomers'.
Both corporations and job seekers showed a preference for game planning and development, but there were differences in device and genre preferences. While corporations preferred mobile game talent at 52%, job seekers were more diverse, with 35% for mobile, 29% for online, and 14% for console. By genre, corporations favored RPG at 38%, whereas job seekers expressed interest in a wider variety of genres.
Han Jin-nyeong, the Deputy Minister of HR at Job Korea, noted, “We issued the report to objectively convey the current recruitment status in the industry based on the data held by Game Job,” and added, “We will continue to enhance services to address information asymmetries and mismatches.”
