Okestro announced on the 10th that it has signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the International Cooperation Foundation for Electronic Customs (CUPIA) to enhance its AI and cloud-based electronic customs system. The signing ceremony took place at CUPIA’s headquarters on the 7th.
This agreement aims to establish a cooperative system that covers the entire process from transitioning to a cloud-based system to the application of AI technology, technical exchanges, and joint proposals in response to the growing demand for digital transformation in the global electronic customs market. Okestro will leverage its AI and cloud technology capabilities, while CUPIA will promote collaboration based on its business experience supplying electronic customs solutions to 39 countries.
CUPIA has provided solutions to Asia, Africa, and Latin America based on the Korean electronic customs system (UNI-PASS), and Okestro has been leading the adoption of cloud transitions and AI technology in the public, financial, and institutional sectors.
Kim Jae-il, chairman of the Customs Uni-Pass International Agency (CUPIA), noted, “The significance is great in terms of cooperation between an electronic customs specialized institution and an AI and cloud technology corporation, and I expect this will be a turning point for enhancing digital competitiveness and global expansion.”
Kim Beom-jae, CEO of Okestro, stated, “Through this agreement, we will accelerate the global expansion of the Korean digital customs model, and we will enhance digital competitiveness by combining the technological capabilities and experience of both parties.”
