SK shieldus announced on the 10th that it is supporting the security enhancement of small and medium-sized enterprises using the accounting automation solution 'AI Accounting Nation' in collaboration with WebCash.
Recent data shows that 8 out of 10 cyber infringement incidents in Korea over the past three years occurred in small and medium-sized enterprises. According to the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA), 3,563 of the 4,306 reported incidents from 2022 to 2024 were attributed to small and medium-sized enterprises (82.7%), while medium-sized enterprises accounted for 339 incidents (7.8%) and large enterprises 141 incidents (3%).
In particular, small and medium-sized enterprises are more vulnerable to cyber threats due to a lack of dedicated personnel and budget. According to the '2024 Cybersecurity Workforce Supply and Demand Survey' released by the Ministry of Science and ICT, only 28.4% of corporations had dedicated cybersecurity personnel, with 1 in 4 lacking any dedicated staff at all. Additionally, many small and medium-sized enterprises are still hesitant to adopt security services due to high expenses and complex operational procedures.
To address these issues, SK shieldus has partnered with WebCash. WebCash is a B2B financial artificial intelligence (AI) agent company that provides cash management solutions targeting public institutions, medium-sized and large corporations, including the 'AI Accounting Nation' that automates accounting tasks for small and medium-sized enterprises. Recently, it has been accelerating service innovation by integrating AI into all corporate solutions, currently serving over 100 public institutions, 8,700 medium-sized and large corporations, and more than 40,000 small and medium-sized enterprises.
Through its collaboration with WebCash, SK shieldus will offer its subscription-based cybersecurity service 'Cyber Guard' as an added service to customers of 'AI Accounting Nation'. Any customer using 'AI Accounting Nation' can select essential security services necessary for small and medium-sized enterprises on the AI Accounting Nation homepage store.
The additional services supported by SK shieldus include a 'PC Ransomware Protection Package' that can detect and block ransomware occurring regardless of the size of the corporation and a 'Corporate Secret Protection Package' that prevents the leakage of critical information. In particular, customers who subscribe to the 'PC Ransomware Protection Package' can receive compensation for damages caused by ransomware at no cost. In the event of damage, compensation can be provided for up to 2 million won per PC and up to 20 million won per corporation. Furthermore, the 'Corporate Secret Protection Package' helps protect the core assets of corporations by preventing unauthorized outflows of critical information through USBs, emails, and printed materials.
Kim Byung-moo, head of the cybersecurity division at SK shieldus (vice president), noted, 'As cyber attacks targeting small and medium-sized enterprises have intensified, the necessity for security is sufficiently recognized. However, there are still practical barriers to implementation, which is unfortunate.'
