Kakao Entertainment is discontinuing the Radish web novel platform service it was operating in the United States.
On the 9th, Radish posted an 'important notice' through its application (app) and stated, 'We have made the difficult decision to phase out the Radish app,' adding, 'The service end date is December 31, 2025.'
Radish, a web novel platform founded by CEO Lee Seung-yoon in 2016, became a hot topic when Kakao Entertainment acquired it for 500 billion won in 2021. Kakao Entertainment operates three platforms simultaneously—Tapas, Radish, and Wuxiaworld—through its North American subsidiary, Tapas Entertainment, and will only discontinue the Radish service this time.
A Kakao Entertainment official said, 'As part of our process to reorganize our global strategy, we plan to focus our efforts on Tapas after discontinuing Radish in North America to efficiently advance our storytelling business.'
