NHN Cloud announced that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with NetLearning Holdings for data transfer on the 9th.
NetLearning is a Japanese e-learning company that provides educational and consulting services, such as educational videos and content creation tools, to schools, corporations, and institutions. It has approximately 16,000 educational programs and over 7,300 clients, with a cumulative number of learners reaching 110 million.
Through this agreement, the two companies will transfer a vast amount of educational content and data owned by NetLearning to the NHN Cloud environment. They will also share technical expertise to advance the existing services.
NHN Cloud will transfer NetLearning's core service, "Multiverse," to the cloud environment. Multiverse is an integrated e-learning platform for education, training, and learning. Until now, NetLearning has operated its own IT infrastructure and managed data through its data center.
With this transfer, NHN Cloud will take charge of operating IT infrastructure and managing data in the cloud environment, allowing NetLearning to focus on developing high-quality educational content and solutions. It will create an environment that can flexibly expand IT infrastructure as needed, ensuring uninterrupted service even during peak user traffic seasons.
The two companies plan to promote joint AI projects by combining the artificial intelligence (AI) technologies held by NHN Group with NetLearning's vast educational data for learning analytics, automatic content generation, and recommendation system development.
Additionally, they plan to collaborate on various projects, including ▲ linking NetLearning's 1EDTECH international standard open badge system with the "NHN Cloud technology certification" ▲ jointly promoting entry into global markets such as Southeast Asia, Korea, and Japan ▲ and introducing NetLearning's e-learning content to NHN Korea and NHN Japan.
Kim Dong-hoon, CEO of NHN Cloud, said, "We will use this partnership as a stepping stone to achieve digital transformation (DX) targeting all industries in Japan, including education."
