Samsung Electronics announced on the 8th that it will officially equip its new foldable smartphone devices with the latest operating system (OS) "One UI 8." The company plans to hold the Galaxy Unpacked event on the 9th (local time) in New York, where it will unveil two new foldable smartphones, the "Galaxy Z Fold7" and "Galaxy Z Flip7." One UI 8 will be applied starting with these foldable new products and will gradually expand.

As the use of artificial intelligence (AI) expands, Samsung Electronics has introduced a new security solution, "KEEP" (Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection), to enhance personal data protection in the new One UI 8. It is developed to protect personalized AI features. A key characteristic is creating encrypted storage spaces separated by app within the device's secure storage area.

The company noted about KEEP, "With individual protection of encrypted information, each app can access only its sensitive data," and added, "It controls so that personal data cannot be accessed by apps other than Galaxy AI. It protects sensitive information, such as users' daily preferences learned through the Personal Data Engine (PDE)."

Users' personal information is stored only within the device. It is protected by KEEP, which utilizes Knox Vault, the foundation of Galaxy security. The company explains that this allows Galaxy AI to provide personalized experiences while strongly protecting data.

In One UI 8, the Knox Matrix feature, which provides threat detection and protection for various connected devices, has also been upgraded. If a device is in serious danger, it will automatically log out of the Samsung account. A function that blocks access to services based on the Samsung account and prevents threats from spreading has been added. Additionally, it sends notifications to users' Galaxy devices, allowing them to take security-related actions.

Features to expand AI consolidation experiences have been added. It protects connected devices, including Galaxy, and provides intuitive situation monitoring and notifications.

In this One UI 8, new quantum-resistant encryption technology has been introduced for "secure Wi-Fi," enhancing security and personal data protection even when using public Wi-Fi networks. Samsung Electronics has previously introduced quantum-resistant encryption technology in the Galaxy S25 series, becoming the first in the industry. This technology adopts encryption methods safe from attacks by quantum computers, thus enhancing user safety.

The company stated, "By strengthening security between Galaxy devices and servers, users can confidently use data even in high-risk environments, such as public Wi-Fi." Features include: ▲ "Auto Protect Wi-Fi," which automatically activates in public places to protect Wi-Fi connections without requiring separate user actions; ▲ "Enhanced Privacy Protection" (EPP), which prevents tracking through traffic encryption and anonymization; and ▲ a feature that shows the historical records of network protection in use, allowing users to see how their personal information is being protected.

Through Knox Vault, the core security system of Galaxy devices, sensitive information such as passwords, PINs, and biometrics are not only more securely protected but also equipped with various security features such as ▲ Auto Blocker and ▲ Theft Protection.
