KRAFTON announced on the 4th that it hosted the finals of the Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) esports tournament 'BMPS 2025' in India.
BMPS (BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA PRO SERIES) is the official league's top tournament where the best BGMI pro teams from across India compete for the championship title, now in its third year. This year's total prize money is approximately 640 million won (40 million rupees), double that of the previous year, making it the largest in Indian esports history. This increase in the prize money is a result of achieving prize-linked in-game event goals.
In this tournament, after qualifying with 96 teams participating from May 22nd, the top 16 teams advanced to the finals. The finals will take place from July 4th to 6th at the Yashobhoomi Convention Center in New Delhi, India, and all matches will be broadcast live on-site and online through the BGMI official YouTube channel.
The teams advancing to the finals are top-tier teams in India, featuring a mix of newcomers and veterans, predicting a clash of strategy and experience.
BGMI is the first esports title in India to be broadcast live on TV, recording a peak concurrent viewership of 24 million, contributing to the expansion of the local esports ecosystem. The recently held official league BGIS 2025 saw participation from 330,000 teams, with peak simultaneous viewers of 34 million on YouTube and a total view count of 88 million.
